Jon Parkin is the subject of a tug-of-war battle between Sheffield rivals United and Wednesday, who will be facing each other in the 3rd tier of English football for the first time since 1980 next season.
Both Owls boss Gary Megson and Blades supremo Micky Adams are admirers of Parkin's 'never-say-die' attitude, whilst Parkin - who was born in South Yorkshire - is desperate for a move away from Cardiff where he has only played a handful of games, and could be tempted by regular football in League 1.
