Lee Bowyer is set to make a shock return to former club Leeds United - and pocket £1m just for committing his pen to paper.
The Birmingham midfielder has shone in the Premier League and revived his career, but is known to favour a return to Yorkshire and with the uncertain financial future surrounding the men from St Andrews, up and coming boss Simon Grayson has made an initial approach to Bowyer's representatives and received a favourable outcome. A source close to the player told us: "Lee felt that he was the heartbeat of Leeds during their run to the Champions League semi-finals and he wants to return them to their past glories".
Could see this happening with Bates now investing in Leeds.
